Cases filed against 79 firms for selling and distributing inedible food

Hetauda, December 19

The Food Technology and Quality Control Department has filed cases against 79 companies and trading houses for selling and distributing inedible food in the last four months.

The department stated that the cases were filed at the District Administration Office after they were found selling adulterated and inedible food. Most of the 79 companies sold dairy products, tea and coffee, cooking oil, ghee, water, lentils and poultry feed.

Food Inspector Akash Kafle said the samples of food collected from various industrial and business houses in Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, Sarlahi, Chitwan and Rautahat were found contaminated and adulterated.
