Reports that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is preparing to reshuffle his Cabinet on Wednesday have also affected activities of various committees in Parliament. The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee in Parliament could not hold its meeting due to the same reason today.

The meeting was called for 11 am and Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lalbabu Pandit was invited to the meeting. However, Pandit did not show up. Media reports have claimed that Oli is planning to remove him.

On the other hand, some other key members of the committee including ruling Nepal Communist Party leaders Pampha Bhusal and Janardan Sharma also did not join the meeting. Bhusal and Sharma are the two people who are likely to be included in the Cabinet.

After waiting for them for around 30 minutes, the committee’s chairperson Shashi Shrestha announced that the meeting was adjourned till the next notice.
