Cabinet reshuffle on the cards, confirms Dahal

Pushpa Kamal Dahal speaks with journalists in Pokhara, on Monday, March 11, 2019.

Pokhara, June 20

Ruling Nepal Communist Party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has confirmed that media reports about Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s plan to reshuffle his Cabinet are true.

Dahal says Oli is consulting him over the issue. However, it is Prime Minister’s jurisdiction and he is not much certain about the plan, Dahal claims.

Speaking with journalists in Pokhara on Thursday morning, Dahal said, “As I am the chairperson, discussions have been held [with me] to reshuffle the Cabinet.”

The former prime minister added that he would hold discussions with Oli over the issue again after returning to Kathmandu. “We have not made any concrete decision,” he added.

The leader conceded that many problems surfaced in some bill registered in Parliament as the government could not consult stakeholders on time.

Meanwhile, Dahal said leaders of the party could not move away from the unification process as people already endorsed it.
