CAA publishes domestic airfare rates, Kathmandu–Dhangadhi at Rs 17,579

Kathmandu, October 3

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has published the maximum airfare rates for domestic flights, with a ticket from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi costing Rs 17,579, the highest among all routes.

The authority said the move was aimed at curbing possible overpricing during the Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals, when demand for tickets surges and availability becomes limited. Airlines have been directed not to charge passengers beyond the government-approved ceiling rates, and CAAN has warned of action against any violations.

According to the published list, the lowest airfare is for the Kathmandu–Simara route at Rs 3,978. Other fares are as follows:

Kathmandu–Biratnagar: Rs 9,785
Kathmandu–Bharatpur: Rs 4,643
Kathmandu–Bhadrapur: Rs 12,112
Kathmandu–Janakpur: Rs 5,470
Kathmandu–Pokhara: Rs 6,635
Kathmandu–Nepalgunj: Rs 13,103
Kathmandu–Dhangadhi: Rs 17,579
Kathmandu–Simara: Rs 3,978
Kathmandu–Bhairahawa: Rs 8,461
Kathmandu–Rajbiraj: Rs 8,210
Kathmandu–Surkhet: Rs 9,030
Kathmandu–Tumlingtar: Rs 7,630

The revised fares were made public on October 2, coinciding with the Dashain tika day.
