Kathmandu, May 30
Amrit Kumar Bohora and Amik Sherchan have expressed their note of dissent over a provision of the Nepal Communist Party’s charter that they be including the party’s Standing Committee as ‘invitees’ only.
Both have demanded that they be included as full-fledged Standing Committee members.
Bohora and Sherchan would lead discipline commissions of then CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre respectively. They were elected to the positions from their parties’ latest general conventions. However, the statute of the unified party had stated that they would have an ‘invitee’ position in the powerful committee.
Likewise, their status in the Central Committee would also be the invitees only.
Meanwhile, Ashta Laxmi Shakya, then Vice-Chairperson of the UML, has also not signed the party’s minute that the leaders submitted to the Election Commission for the party registration.
Shakya is the wife of Bohora.
