Kathmandu, August 19
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has said there is no problem in his relationship with Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Lamichhane said reports about tensions between the two had, in fact, brought them closer.
“There is no problem between us, and there is no confusion,” he said.
Lamichhane was responding to a question about a recent social media post by Prime Minister Shah in which Shah said he felt “alone.”
Defending the prime minister’s remarks, Lamichhane said Shah was also a poet and an artist, and that his words should not necessarily be interpreted politically.
“The prime minister wrote that. He is also a poet and an artist. Can’t I feel alone even in a crowd this large? If we start looking for political meanings in every word, it doesn’t necessarily have a political meaning,” Lamichhane said.
He said there was no reason for concern over the relationship between the two leaders.
