The body of another of the two girls who went missing after being swept away by the Basudev River in Bastipur, Hetauda-19, has been found.
Four girls returning home from Nirmal Secondary School were swept away by the river at around 4 pm on Tuesday. One of them was rescued safely, while another was found dead. Two girls had remained missing.
District Police Office spokesperson Madhav Prasad Kafle said the body of Binita Blon was found in the river during a search operation that began early Wednesday morning.
Sumitra Blon, a Grade 5 student, remains missing. A search for her is continuing.
Of the four students swept away by the river, Reshma Syangtan, a Grade 2 student from Raksirang-1, was found dead on Tuesday, while Sima Blon, a Grade 6 student, was rescued injured.
Sima is receiving treatment at Hetauda Hospital.
Nepal Police, the Nepali Army, the Armed Police Force and residents are involved in the search for the missing girl.
