A landslide has destroyed a school in Bakaiya Rural Municipality, located in the eastern region of Makwanpur. The landslide occurred on Tuesday, causing significant damage to Shree Primary School Kolkhop, situated in Kolkhop, Bakaiya Rural Municipality-12.
According to DSP Lakshmi Bhandari of Makwanpur, the continuous rainfall triggered the landslide from above, leading to the destruction of two rooms in the school. DSP Bhandari reported that the landslide destroyed the furniture and files inside the rooms and caused partial damage to the toilet connected to the building.
The landslide that hit the school around 6 pm on Tuesday was only reported on Wednesday afternoon, as confirmed by DSP Bhandari.
