The National Examination Board has urged secondary schools across the country not to conduct the grade 11 final examinations until the next notice.

The board’s instruction comes at a time when many schools have been found scheduling examinations, physical or online, in view of the fees they could collect from students amid the increasing Covid-19 outbreak in the country.

“Such activities created an atmosphere of terror among the students and their guardians,” the board says in a public notice, “Everyone concerned is informed not to carry out any activity related to the examinations until the government decides to resume schools.”

The exams scheduled to be held in May this year were first postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak fears. Later, the government decided not to conduct the exams on its own, but let the schools evaluate their students.
