Kathmandu, March 10
The bird flu spread has been found in some chickens raised by Siyanla, Bheri municipality-3 of Jajarkot of Karnali, informs agriculture officials of the country.
Chandra Dhakal, a senior livestock development officer of the Department of Livestock Development, says samples collected from the chickens were tested at the Central Veterinary Laboratory and they were confirmed positive for H5N1.
This is the fifth time that bird flu spread has spread in the country since January. In the past, the disease was seen in Tarakeshwar of Kathmandu and Birendranagar of Surkhet.
Officials say they have mobilised resources at the federal, provincial and local levels to control the spread outside Bheri municipality.
