Biratnagar, February 26
The Biratnagar metropolitan city has assured that it will provide a land plot to the Province 1 Assembly to build the assembly hall.
The assurance has been made amidst some people speculating that the assembly secretariat is mooting shifting the assembly venue from the core city area of the provincial capital. “If necessary, we will stop constructing roads and drainage (to transfer our budget to the assembly hall construction),” the city’s mayor Parajuli says, “Biratnagar is the place where eight prime ministers were born. The legislative body should not be shifted from here.”
The city has offered that the assembly secretariat can choose one place among 10 land plots located in different places of the city.
Meanwhile, mayor Parajuli requested the Provincial Speaker Pradeep Bhandari to expedite preparations for the construction of the building. In response, Bhandari thanked Parajuli for the assurance.
