Biratnagar, March 3
The Provincial Assembly in Province 1 has deferred a discussion on the no-confidence motion tabled against Chief Minister Sher Dhan Rai until March 15.
Issuing a notice on Wednesday, the Assembly Secretariat informs the meeting scheduled for Thursday has been rescheduled now, and it will take place on March 15.
The Dahal-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party had tabled the motion during the meeting on February 21 when the other faction of the party had boycotted the meeting. Earlier on February 7, the side had barred the Dahal-Nepal faction from tabling the proposal.
The Dahal-Nepal faction had registered the motion at the assembly secretariat on December 27, 2020, after the NCP split due to the conflict over the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
