In the women’s category of CAVA (Continental) Beach Volleyball, Nepal’s pair Sunita Rai and Bhawana Dangi have won the silver medal.
In the final match held in Thimphu, Bhutan, the Sunita–Bhawana pair had to settle for silver after losing to India’s Deepika–Pabitra pair.
The Nepali team won the first set 21–17, but lost the second and third sets, missing out on the gold medal. The Indian team took the gold by winning the second set 21–15 and the third set 15–5.
Nepal’s other pair, Kamala Pun and Kopila Rana, had already been eliminated by the same Indian pair, Deepika–Pabitra, in the semifinal.
In the men’s category, the title was won by Sri Lanka’s Dilipa Sadun Madusanka pair.
Nepal was represented by the pairs Mahendra Shrestha and Rajkumar Niroula, as well as Jhaman Singh Darji and Sharan Karki, but neither pair advanced to the semifinals.
