Biratnagar, January 22
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Balendra Shah has reached Ilam for election campaigning. During his visit, Shah conducted door-to-door outreach and interacted with party cadres and supporters.
During the door-to-door campaign in Ilam, he was joined by the RSP candidates Bimal Gadal from Ilam constituency No. 1 and Gokul Bahadur Rai from constituency No. 2.
Balen, the RSP candidate from Jhapa-5, also sought votes for his party’s candidates in Ilam on Thursday morning.
Shah, who filed his nomination on Tuesday to contest against KP Sharma Oli for a seat in the House of Representatives, had met party workers and supporters at the party’s contact office in Damak on Wednesday.
He has also held meetings with RSP candidates in Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari. Although the RSP has fielded Shah as its candidate from Jhapa constituency No. 5 and projected him as the party’s prime ministerial candidate, the party has adopted a strategy to deploy him in election campaigns across other constituencies as well.
