5 including a newlywed couple killed in Baitadi road accident

Five persons died in a road accident in the Baitadi district of Sudurpaschim on Monday evening. Two of them are a newly married couple.

An SUV (Se 1 Ja 888) heading towards Sakar from Patan of the district had fallen off the road at Sakar, Patan municipality-1, killing four persons on the spot, informs Police Inspector Rajesh Shahi, the chief of the Patan Area Police Office.

Further, one more person succumbed to injuries during treatment at the Patan Primary Health Centre, taking the death toll to five, according to him.

The victims have been identified as Prem Chunara (24) and Manisha BK (20), residents of Sunarya-1 of the district, Binod Bhattarai (13), Rama Bhattarai (72), and Janaki Bhattarai (40), residents of Patan-1. Chunara and BK had tied the conjugal knot just last week.

Meanwhile, five persons have sustained injuries. Two of them, more critically injured, have been sent to the Dadeldhura Hospital whereas three others are undergoing treatment at the Patan Primary Health Centre.
