Kathmandu, March 4
A Nepal Army staffer sustained injuries when he fell down from his parachute during an event organised to celebrate the Army Day.
The national military force marks its establishment day coinciding with the annual Hindu festival of Mahashivaratri every year.
Nepal Army spokesperson Brigadier General Yam Prasad Dhakal says the injured is Purna Bahadur Bhandari. Dhakal says the incident occurred while he was landing the parachute at the Army Pavilion of the capital this morning.
He was taken to the nearby Bir Hospital for treatment.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli among others were present at the function.
Army personnel had demonstrated various military skills on the occasion.
