Kathmandu, April 5

The Kathmandu District Administration Office has decided that people entering the district from outside should undergo an antigen test for coronavirus mandatorily from now onwards.

A meeting of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Committee held on Sunday made the decision, informs Kathmandu Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli.

Parajuli says concerned municipalities controlling the district entry points should establish a health desk for the checkup and mobilise the staff that that.

If anyone tests positive in the test, they have to undergo a PCR test for the virus, and only testing negative in that will allow the person to enter.

Meanwhile, concerned public health offices have been ordered to provide antigen test kits.

The DAO has directed all municipal governments in the district to update isolation and quarantine centres, adding all municipalities should have at least one isolation centre and one quarantine centre each.

The office has urged the public to postpone all public functions and if urgently necessary, follow the health protocol issued by the government.
