Ambulance used in marijuana smuggling

Police confiscated 30.6 kg of marijuana being traded using a government ambulance in Makawanpur district.

According to the police, the ambulance belonged to a health facility in Dumariya municipality of Rautahat. Police have arrested three people, including the driver of the vehicle, for the possession of the drug.

According to DSP Lalan Prasad Kurmi of the District Police Office, the three people arrested are driver Mohammed Khalid, Ashok Kumar of Dumariya and Indian national Binod Sahani of Motihari.

The vehicle (Ba 2 Jha 1749) was stopped and raided at around 6:45 pm on Saturday at Newarpani Area Police Office of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city. Police also found Rs 19,000 cash.

Police are investigating further into the case, says Kurmi.
