Nepal has nominated the current release Ainaa Jhyal Ko Putali for the Academy Awards, more popularly knowns as the Oscars, for its 2023 edition.
Nepal’s International Film Selection Committee selected the film that has already won a few international awards for the coveted event to be held in March 2023. It will be the 95th edition of the Academy Awards.
The committee had called for applications for the nomination, and it had received only three projects–Ainaa Jhyal Ko Putali, Radha and Prakash–by the deadline.
In a statement, the committee led by Bimal Paudel says the Sujit Bidari-directed film has been selected based on technicalities, plot, presentation and characterisation.
