The meeting of the CPN-UML Parliamentary Party is taking place at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, on Thursday.

Scheduled to begin at 3 pm, the meeting will discuss ways to discuss the no-confidence motion coming from the main opposition Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Centre, the role of the UML in the Parliament and the latest political developments.

The UML plans to brief its lawmakers about latest political developments and discuss ways to present the party’s viewpoints at the House meeting on Friday. The UML plans to justify the relevance of its government at the meeting.

With the CPN-Maoist Centre withdrawing support, the UML-led ruling coalition has lost majority support.

After Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said he will face the Parliament instead of putting in papers, the Congress and the Maoist party have tabled a no-confidence motion against the government in the House.

After the Maoist party announced withdrawal of support to the government, the UML has been saying it wants to know what mistakes did it make.  At the Parliament, the UML has said, PM Oli will ask some questions to lawmakers of the two parties regarding their move. The party maintains that PM Oli will face the Parliament instead of quitting because it was the Parliament that elected him as PM.
