A flash flood has hit Chumnubri Rural Municipality-6 in Gorkha.
Gorkha Chief District Officer Dharendra Kumar Mishra said he received information of a major flood at 4:35 this morning. According to him, there is no information so far of any human casualties.
He said preparations are underway to deploy a Nepali Army helicopter to assess the situation.
Rural Municipality Chair Nima Lama said a landslide blocked the Chumke Khola in Chumanubri-6, and the flood came afterwards.
Locals said Sallery and Jagat Bazaar, in the lower riparian area, are at risk. Some people have been displaced because of the danger.
The Flood Forecasting Division has sent out an SMS alert urging caution because of the flash flood.
