The British Education Group (BEG) organised a joint graduation ceremony for its Class of 2026 at The Soaltee Kathmandu on October 2.
The 12th graduation ceremony of The British College brought together graduating students from four institutions under the group — The British College, British International College, British Model College and British Professional College.
Graduates from programmes ranging from A Levels and professional qualifications to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business, computing, information technology and accountancy received their awards during the ceremony.
The programmes included Executive MBA, MBA, MSc IT, MSc Advanced Computer Science, MSc Professional Accountancy, ACCA, BBA, BSc (Hons) Computing, BSc (Hons) Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, and A Levels.
The ceremony was held in two sessions, with graduates receiving their qualifications from the group’s international academic partners, including Leeds Beckett University, the University of the West of England, Keele University, the University of London, ACCA and Cambridge International Examinations.

The programme began with an academic procession, followed by the national anthems of Nepal and the United Kingdom. British Education Group CEO Rajen Kandel formally opened the ceremony by lighting the traditional Panas.
Addressing the graduating students, Kandel congratulated them on completing their academic journeys and thanked their families, faculty members and the wider college community for their support.
He said the Class of 2026 would join a growing alumni network of more than 4,000 graduates of The British College and more than 10,000 graduates across the British Education Group. He encouraged the graduates to remain connected with the college and one another as they move into further studies and professional careers.
Paul Cleves MBE, advisor to The British College, and Michael Rutland OBE, first honorary consul of Bhutan to the UK and former advisor to the college, also addressed the graduates.
Dave Chesley, senior lecturer and link tutor at Leeds Beckett University, attended the ceremony as a representative of the university’s academic partnership with The British College.
Video messages were also delivered by Professor Steve West CBE, vice-chancellor and president of the University of the West of England, Professor Kevin Shakesheff, vice-chancellor of Keele University, and Simon Cleary of the University of London.

The ceremony also featured Excellence Awards recognising outstanding student achievements. Representatives from different programmes shared their experiences and reflections on their academic journeys.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Arun Kandel, country director of The British College, followed by photographs and celebrations involving graduates, families, faculty members and guests.
Amardeep Mandal, chief growth officer of British Education Group, said the graduation marked the first time all four institutions under the group had come together to celebrate their graduating students on a single platform.
He said the joint ceremony reflected the group’s shared vision and commitment to providing education and opportunities for students in Nepal and abroad.
