A total of 637 mountaineers have obtained permission to climb 18 different mountains in the autumn season. Six hundred thirty-seven climbers in 68 teams have got permission to climb different mountains in Nepal in the autumn season of 2026, according to the Department of Tourism.
Information Officer of the Department, Suraj Ghimire, said 474 men and 163 women have obtained permission to climb 18 different mountains. The Department has collected Rs 238.5 million in Royalty from climbers. The highest number of climbers (500 from 43 teams) have taken permission to climb Mt Manaslu, and the Department collected Rs 225.85 million in Royalty from climbers.
Similarly, 34 climbers obtained permission to climb Dhaulagiri-1, 20 climbers for the Putha Himchuli expedition, 16 for Danga Himchuli, and 10 for Barunste Mountain. Similarly, the Department has also granted permission to ascend Makalu, Gangapurna West, Thorong Peak, Annapurna-4, Pumori, Thapa Peak (Dhampus), among others.
