Janakpurdham, August 27
Thirty people from Madhesh Province have lost contact following the devastating flood in Rasuwa’s Bhotekoshi.
According to information given by families and relatives, and based on a press release issued Thursday by the Madhesh Province Police Office in Janakpurdham, the 30 people had been working or residing in various parts of Rasuwa and are currently out of contact.
Police say 16 are from Parsa, 3 from Bara, 2 from Rautahat, 6 from Sarlahi, and 2 from Saptari.
Those out of contact from Parsa include Narayan Patel, Subodh Patel, Arun Hazra, Shyambabu Thakur, Ukesh Dangol, Sanjay Tamang, Akash Tamang, Kamrul Hoda Ansari, Subhash Patel, Samim Dewan, Anutam Bahadur Shrestha, Abhishek Bastola, Ghanshyam Bastola, Dinesh Pariyar, and Prithvi Chaudhary, among others.
Similarly, police say Narayan Singh, Satya Prakash Ram, and Ankit Patel from Bara are out of contact.
Gaurav Raut and Sheikh Majid from Rautahat, along with Madhav Kafle, Anuj Kafle, Krishna Prasad Dhamala, Dwarika Dangal, Chiranjeevi Khatiwada, and Sunil Kushwaha from Sarlahi, are also on the list of those out of contact.
The status of Ajay Kumar Yadav and Sajan Chaudhary from Saptari has also not yet been confirmed.
Police say that among those out of contact, Sarlahi residents Gyan Bahadur Thing and Shyamlal Moktan have come back into contact after being rescued. Search and rescue operations are underway to confirm the status of the remaining individuals.
Madhesh Province Police has urged the families and relatives of those out of contact not to fall into unnecessary panic or misinformation.
