Kathmandu, August 27
The Nepali Army and private helicopters will begin rescuing injured and at-risk people affected by the Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa from early Thursday morning.
A meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority held earlier Thursday decided to evacuate injured people from the affected areas and provide initial treatment at camps being set up at Nepali Army barracks in Dhunche, Rasuwa, and Bidur, Nuwakot.
Ministry of Home Affairs spokesperson Anand Kafle said the decision was taken to ensure immediate medical care for those affected.
According to Kafle, critically injured people will be evacuated to Kathmandu immediately. Rescue and treatment efforts will be prioritised based on the severity of the injuries.
Meanwhile, relief materials required for the affected communities have started being transported by road to the Nepali Army barracks in Bidur.
The government has intensified rescue, medical and relief efforts following the devastating flooding in Rasuwa.
