Major flood in Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa; residents urged to stay alert in surrounding areas

Kathmandu, August 26

A major flood has struck the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.

Rasuwa’s Chief District Officer, Narendra Pariyar, said he received information about a sudden major flood on Wednesday morning at around 9:15 am.

He said he was informed that the large flood had come from the Tibet side.

Speaking to Onlinekhabar, he said, “I received information around 9:15 this morning that a major flood had come from the Tibet side. It is not possible to say right now exactly how much damage has occurred. Efforts are underway to assess the situation.”

He added that, due to the flooding in the Bhotekoshi River, residents living along the riverbanks in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, and Chitwan districts, through which the river flows, have been asked to remain vigilant.
