Kathmandu, August 24
Pothole repair work has been intensified on roads across Kathmandu, with the Road Division Office, Kathmandu, deploying a Road Maintenance Ambulance to speed up maintenance.
According to the office, pothole repair works are being carried out mainly at night when traffic volume is relatively low to minimise disruption to commuters.
On Wednesday, repair teams worked on potholes and damaged sections along the Tinkune–Gaushala–Airport–Gairidhara–Maitighar–Babarmahal–Bijulibazar–New Baneshwor road corridor, according to the Road Division Office.
The office said the maintenance ambulance is being used to respond quickly to damaged road sections and carry out necessary repairs.
The intensified maintenance comes as potholes and damaged road surfaces have remained a recurring problem on several major roads in the Kathmandu Valley, particularly during the monsoon season.
