Police have detained a person for questioning in connection with the death of a three-year-old girl in Shambhunath Municipality-3, Saptari.
Saptari DIG Om Adhikari confirmed that one person has been taken into custody as a suspect.
According to Adhikari, police detained the individual after finding their activities suspicious and have begun further investigation into the incident.
Three-year-old Saniya Khatun, daughter of local resident Irfan, was found dead on Sunday.
Saniya had gone missing from her home at around 9 am on Sunday. After her family reported her missing, locals and police began searching for her.
Her body was later found in bushes approximately 60 metres behind her house.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
