Kathmandu, August 18
The Dhanusha Survey Office has distributed land ownership certificates to 57 families in Ward No. 11 of Sabaila Municipality, Dhanusha, nearly 10 years after their land was surveyed.
The survey of Gaun Block (Swabasi) land in Wards 6, 7, 8 and 9 of the former Makhanaha Village Development Committee was completed in fiscal year 2072/73 BS.
Although the survey had been completed, the process of distributing land ownership certificates was delayed for years due to low public participation required for land registration.
The 57 land ownership certificates were distributed after completing the necessary procedures for land that had previously been surveyed and mapped by the commission.
With the certificates, the 57 families who had been living on the land as Swabasi for a long time have now formally obtained legal ownership of their land.
