Nepal’s franchise cricket tournament, the Nepal Premier League (NPL), has received official T20 recognition from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the recognition in a press release on Friday.
With the recognition, NPL franchises will be able to sign overseas players without restrictions on the number of foreign players they can recruit.
Previously, the ICC had permitted each franchise to sign a maximum of four players from Test-playing nations for a single edition of the tournament.
The new recognition removes that limit, giving franchises greater flexibility in recruiting international players.
