Ground rescue teams have recovered four bodies following a devastating avalanche on Pakistan’s Broad Peak (8,047 m), which hit a 10-member international climbing expedition led by world-renowned Nepal-born mountaineer Nirmal Purja, popularly known as “Nims Dai.”
The recovery was confirmed in an Instagram update by Irfan Khan, President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan. Khan stated that while four bodies have been retrieved from the avalanche site so far, authorities have not yet confirmed their identities. The entire 10-member team lost contact after being caught in the disaster.
Rescue helicopters carrying specialised personnel and high-altitude equipment are currently operating on the mountain alongside ground teams to locate the remaining climbers.
The missing 10-member team includes high-profile international climbers alongside experienced Nepali high-altitude guides:

“Rescue helis are on Broad Peak with rescuers and equipment. Meanwhile, four bodies have been found by ground rescue teams so far,” Khan shared in his post.
