Kathmandu, May 19
The staging of the comedy play Grand Rehearsal, currently being staged at Mandala Theatre, has been extended by one week. Mandala Theatre announced that due to enthusiastic audience turnout, the play has been extended through May 24, 2026.
The play, inspired by a work written by British playwrights Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, has been running regularly at Mandala since April 24. Theatre artists Anup Neupane and Umesh Tamang adapted it for a Nepali setting.
Crafted in the “play within a play” style, the production is directed by Umesh Tamang. The cast includes Anup Neupane, Milan Karki, Sudeep Khatiwada, Ruja Raut, Rakshya Thapa and others.
The approximately 90-minute play runs every day except Monday at 5:30 pm. An additional Saturday matinee show is also available at 1:30 pm. The theatre administration noted that the run was extended in response to strong audience demand.
