Kathmandu, April 24
Security has been tightened at the office of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) as squatters plan to head there.
A team from the Nepal Police has been deployed in front of the RSP office.
The protests come as the government moves forward with plans to clear squatter settlements in Kathmandu.
Residents from squatter areas, including Thapathali, have taken to the streets since early Friday morning. They have expressed anger, accusing the government of trying to evict them without providing proper alternatives for housing.
