Sarlahi CDO says minor disputes settled, situation scross district better than expected

Sarlahi, March 5

Chief District Officer (CDO) of Sarlahi, Ramraj Kadariya, has said that voting is proceeding smoothly despite minor disputes reported in a few locations.

Tension briefly arose at the polling centre set up at Shree Primary School in Balara–4. The situation became tense after a dispute between representatives of political parties led to a scuffle. Following the incident, the CDO himself, along with the district police chief, reached the site.

According to him, the overall situation across the district has now returned to normal.

“There were minor disagreements between party representatives that created the impression of unrest for a short time. However, the process has resumed. Voters are happy,” CDO Kadariya told Onlinekhabar.

He also said that the disputes reported earlier have already been resolved.

“The security arrangement is strong. As soon as there was any commotion, all security teams were deployed. Voters are standing in queues. The security situation is good and we have already resolved the disputes. Overall, the situation in Sarlahi is better than expected. Polling has not been halted anywhere,” he said.

The dispute occurred at the polling centre located at Shree Primary School in Balara–4, where supporters of two sides clashed.

Earlier, tension had also arisen briefly in Balara–1. Considering incidents that had occurred in previous elections in the area and possible challenges this time, security arrangements have been strengthened.
