The process of correcting errors in the proportional representation candidate lists submitted by political parties has begun.
According to Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Kul Bahadur GC, the closed lists for the proportional representation submitted by political parties on December 28 and 29 will be reviewed from December 30 to January 4.
After completing the review of the closed lists by January 4, the Commission has scheduled the period from January 5 to 11 for parties to make necessary corrections.
The Commission stated that from January 12 to 17, it will verify whether the corrected closed lists submitted by the parties are accurate. The closed lists will be published on January 18, and the final list is scheduled to be published on February 3.
A total of 100 political parties have registered to participate in the proportional representation election system using 93 election symbols.
Political parties registered to take part in the proportional representation system have submitted closed lists of candidates.
Parties are required to submit closed lists containing between 11 and 110 candidates. The House of Representatives election will be held on March 5. There are 18,903,689 registered voters for the election. Voters will cast their ballots on two separate ballot papers, one for proportional representation and one for the first-past-the-post system.
