The Nepal School Staff Council is set to announce a new phase of protest programs later today.
An emergency meeting held at Ratna Rajya Secondary School in New Baneshwor decided to make the new protest programs public at 7 PM this evening.
Speaking to Onlinekhabar during a program organised to provide updates on the agreement reached with the government, Council Chairperson Ganga Ram Tiwari shared the information.
“We will announce additional programs at 7 PM today,” he said. “The federation reached an agreement with the government that goes against what was agreed upon with us. We disagree with that.”
Expressing dissatisfaction over the agreement with the government, school staff had staged a demonstration. Afterwards, Federation Chairperson Laxmi Kishor Subedi left the school premises in coordination with the police.
Shortly afterward, the Council held another meeting and warned of resuming protests.
