Kathmandu, May 1
Teachers have expressed dissatisfaction with the agreement reached between the government and the Teachers’ Federation on Wednesday.
Teachers and staff from schools across the country had come to Kathmandu demanding a specific Education Act. However, since the agreement was made without the enactment of such a law, teachers have protested against the Federation.
The Nepal School Staff Council has issued a statement expressing its opposition to the agreement.
“The Nepal School Staff Council, National Committee, would like to inform all concerned that we completely disagrees with the talks held between the government and the Nepal Teachers’ Federation, as well as the decision to withdraw the protest programs,” reads the statement. “We strongly condemn any agreement made outside the institutional stance of the Nepal School Staff Council.”
