Spain wins Euro Cup title fourth time

Kathmandu, July 15

Spain has made history by winning their fourth Euro Cup title, defeating England 2-1 in the final held in Berlin, Germany.

In a thrilling match, Spain took the lead through Nico Williams in the 47th minute. England’s Cole Palmer equalised in the 73rd minute, but Mikel Oyarzabal secured the victory for Spain with a decisive goal in the 86th minute.

This victory establishes Spain as the most successful team in Euro Cup history, surpassing their previous titles in 1964, 2008, and 2012.

England, finishing as runners-up for the second consecutive tournament, previously lost to Italy in a penalty shootout during the 2021 final held at Wembley.

Spain’s journey to the title was marked by an impressive record, winning all seven of their matches in Euro 2024. They maintained clean sheets against Croatia, Italy, and Albania in the group stage, followed by decisive victories over Georgia, host Germany, France, and England in the knockout stages. Spain scored a total of 15 goals while conceding only four throughout the tournament.
