Police in Kathmandu have arrested four persons on the charge of issuing fake coronavirus test reports at various hospitals and laboratories in the valley.

Nepal Police’s Crime Investigation Division in Kathmandu says they were found to be issuing fake PCR reports by charging a high amount.

Whereas some of the arrestees are staff members of the Nagarik Community Teaching Hospital in Madhyapur, Bhaktapur, and the Kantipur Hospital, Tinkune, Kathmandu whereas others are middlemen, according to SP Krishna Prasad Koirala, the division’s information officer.

The arrestees have been identified as Roshan Kumar Chhittan and Nagendra Yadav from Dhanusha, Madhav Mainali from Kavre, and Prashanna Kumar Jha from Sarlahi.

Similarly, Bhawesh Mishra from Rautahat and Nirmal Giri from Kathmandu are on the run.

Sometimes they used to issue coronavirus test reports without collecting swab samples whereas in other cases, they used to tamper with the results.

Police also confiscated various computer devices from their possession.
