Kathmandu, April 7
A man has been arrested on the charge of smuggling nearly 1 kg gold into Nepal.
Prakash Mahara, 34, a resident of Dhanusha in southeastern Nepal, was arrested on Tuesday night after he arrived at the Tribhuvan International Airport from Dubai of the UAE via a Fly Dubai flight.
Police say he had hidden 88.4 grams of gold into a rice cooker and was trying to sneak it through the security check.
Police are looking further into the case.
