Province 2 Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut says a permanent solution to the floods and inundations that occur in the Tarai region every year.
He also says an authority should be established to manage for rehabilitation of the displaced population.
Chief Minister Raut came to Gaur, the district headquarters of Rautahat district, to distribute relief materials for recent flood victims and said the federal government should lead the disaster management in partnership with provincial and local governments.
He added that his government was in conversation with the federal government about the issues.
At least 10 persons were killed by floods in Lal Bakaiya and Bagmati rivers in the district on Friday. Hundreds of families were displaced.
Raut distributed Rs 100,000 cash, food grains and tarpaulins to the family of each deceased today.
