Kathmandu, March 9
CPN Maoist Centre has named Dev Gurung as the party’s chief whip in the House of Representatives.
According to sources, Gurung was in contention to become the Speaker of the lower House. However, after the Maoists decided to field former finance minister Krishan Bahadur Mahara for the post, former Law Minister Gurung was appointed chief whip.
The Maoist party has already named Prachanda as its leader in Parliament. It is yet to name its deputy leader and chief whip.
