Nepal’s youth human rights activist, Guna Raj Pyakurel, has received the Hero Award 2017 at the international conference of Youth for Human Rights International in New York of the United States recently.
The global organisation’s President Mary Shuttleworth handed over the award to Pyakurel on August 24 at the UN headquarters amidst a function.
Nobel Peace laureate and former Costarican President Óscar Arias Sánchez among others were present on the occasion.
Nepal has led the delegation comprising government officials and youth human rights of various organisations to the 14th annual conference of the international organisation. Total 40 countries are participating in the function.
