Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar has decided to hold the election of prime minister on Sunday despite the objection of opposition parties including the CPN-UML.

The Speaker made the decision after holding a meeting with top leaders of major political parties.

The Parliament Secretariat has issue a notice informing lawmakers about the election schedule as the House has been adjourned till Sunday.

According to the notice, nominations for the elections have to be filed from 11 am to 4 pm tomorrow and the voting will be held during the House meeting called for 11 am on Sunday.

The Speaker was unable to inform lawmakers about the letter sent by the President calling the House to elect the PM owing to the obstruction of UML.

The main opposition has been demanding that the election should not be held before solving a tension ensured in Bharatpur Metropolitan City over vote counting.

The ruling parties, however, had put pressure on the PM to begin the procedures for PM election.
