6 killed in Kavre jeep fall

Kavre, September 26

At least six persons died when a jeep heading to remote Dandapari village from Banepa of Kavre district fell off a road in Roshi Rural Municipality on Tuesday afternoon.

Four women and two men died on the spot as the private Bolero (Ba 14 Cha 9556) skidded off the road at Ningale in Shikhar Ambote, Roshi Rural Municipality-3, say police.

Other 11 have sustained injuries.

One child among them is critical whereas an eight-year-old girl, identified as Kristina Moktan, is missing.

Eight-year-old Abhishek Tamang from Mahabharat Rural Municipality-2 of the district has been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment on a Nepali Army helicopter.

Five victims have been identified as residents of Mahabharat-2 of the district. One man is yet to be identified.

Police have suspected that the vehicle, hired by villagers to travel to their house for the Dashain festival, was overloaded.
