47 unauthorised arms submitted to Gandaki govt in 35 days

A total of 47 unauthorised arms have been submitted to the police administration in the Gandaki province.

The submission follows the Home Ministry’s directive on March 15 towards that end. The government had given public 35 days to submit their illegal weapons.

Lamjung is ahead of the six districts, out of 11, in the province in this regard as total 17 arms possessed unlawfully and without renewing the licence have been collected from this district.

Similarly, 14 sets of arms have been collected from Kaski, eight from Syangja, four from Gorkha, three from Baglung and one from Tanahun, provincial police spokesperson Gobinda Puri says.

No one has approached the respective district dolice offices in remaining five district–Parbat, Myagdi, Manang, Mustang and Nawalparasi East with the illegal arms so far.
