3 killed in Sunsari collision involving 3 vehicles

Three persons have died in a road accident involving three vehicles in Koshi rural municipality-8 of the Sunsari district in eastern Nepal, on Sunday morning.

A microbus (Ba 3 Kha 7224) along the East-West Highway had simultaneously hit a motorbike (Sa 6 Pa 4661) and a pickup truck (Ko 1 Cha 9368) head-on, resulting in the accident, informs DSP Suman Timsina of the Provincial Traffic Police Office in Itahari.

The victims have been identified as Udaya Sah (28) from Dakneshwari municipality-8 of the neighbouring Saptari district, Ram Prasad Sah (40) frpm Biratnagar metropolitan city of Morang, and Akshaya Kumar Gupta (38), also from Biratnagar.

The Sah duo were riding the bike whereas Gupta was driving the pickup truck.

Seriously injured in the accident, all three breathed their last while undergoing treatment at the District Hospital in Inaruwa.

Two other persons are injured in the accident. They have been identified as Bibash Tamang (35) from the Bidur municipality of Nuwakot, and Narayan Basyal (25) from the same place.

Police have blamed overspeed during rainfall for the accident.
