Butwal, June 6

A total of 27 Covid-19 patients have been sent back home from a hospital without going through the two consecutive PCR tests as it had been practised till date to determine if they are recovered.

Among the 27 discharged, 18 were from Rupandehi while nine were from Kapilvastu.

According to the spokesperson for the Butwal-based Lumbini Hospital, Dr Bishnu Gautam, “The patients were discharged as per the new guidelines set by the Health Ministry on June 2 that said people could be sent home if they show no signs of coronavirus infection.”

Earlier, the hospital used to inform the media while discharging the patients. However, this time, the hospital kept the news a hush.

The hospital, now, has four people in isolation and three in ICU.
