Police have arrested two prisoners who escaped from jail during the Gen Z protests on September 9 last year.
The arrested prisoners have been identified as Naresh Lohani, alias Nana, 32, and Ratna Bahadur Raut, 30, both residents of Ward 2 of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, police said.
According to police, Lohani had escaped from Jhumka Prison. He was arrested from Sahamati Chowk in Ward 4 of Inaruwa Municipality, Sunsari, the District Police Office, Sunsari, said.
Similarly, Raut, who had escaped from Jagannathdewal Prison in Kathmandu, was arrested from Balgram Chowk in Ward 7 of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka, spokesperson for the Sunsari District Police Office.
