17 Naya Shakti leaders launch ‘polarisation’ campaign

Leader Devendra Paudel

Kathmandu, August 19

As many as 17 central leaders of Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Party Nepal have formed a Polarisation Coordination Committee, which they say will prepare a political road map for polarisation of like-minded forces.

The leaders including Devendra Paudel say they will organise a national assembly and issue a political paper and a declaration which also clarifies its political line.

Earlier, the leaders had issued a statement calling for polarisation among former Maoists, pro-Madheshi and Janajati forces, claiming the Naya Shakti did not have clear political line.

Following that, Bhattarai had sought a clarification from them.

Those supporting the polarisation campaign are Bamdev Chhetri, Kumar Paudel, Mahendra Paswan, Mukti Pradhan, Pasang Sherpa, Sushila Shreepali, Balawati Sharma, Tilak Thapa, Amar Dhwaj Lama, Wahid Ansari, Hari Chaulagain, Sharmila Tamang, Ratna Rana, Sabindra Sunuwar, Lalit Thakunna and Kul Bahadur Moktan.
